Everyone is sobbing at JT’s memorial service as Traci, Mac, and Reed say nice things about the man he used to be. Nikki is wracked with guilt about the man she killed and Reed’s resultant pain and starts to speak when Phyllis cuts her off.

Phyllis doesn’t care about Reed. Phyllis didn’t even want to come to the memorial service until Nick guilted her into it. All Phyllis cares about is Nikki not confessing that she killed JT. Because that will mean confessing that she buried his body with the help of Victoria, Sharon, and Phyllis.

So Phyllis breaks up Reed’s sweet words about his dad by dropping the bombshell that JT physically abused Victoria. There, that ought to prove to be a distraction. Reed is horrified.Sharon had to leave JT’s memorial because Rey called her about an emergency at work.
