When Victor heard that Nikki, Victoria, and Sharon had been convicted of murdering JT, he knew what he needed to do. The same thing all rich people do when they’re caught dead to rights and even their highly-paid lawyers can, at best, reduce the sentence, not wipe the entire slate clean.

Victor reached out to the governor of Wisconsin. He presumably reminded his honor of how rich Victor is. And how much money Victor has donated to his campaign. And how, as a result, Victor has already been forgiven a whole host of crimes. So what’s one more favor for the little woman? And the Newman heir.
