Despite what Jordan may have told Claire, Victoria didn’t throw her newborn daughter away, and she never forgot her. Victoria mourned Eve Nicole for years. This is why she can’t, for her own peace of mind, simply ignore the possibility that Claire might be her long-lost child.
Victoria won’t have a moment’s peace until she doesn’t just confront Claire, but until she has a DNA test run to find out if the brainwashed young woman is telling the truth. If Claire actually is Eve Nicole, then the real work will truly begin.
No matter what Victor does to his family, he always expects them to forgive him — and to admit that it was probably their own fault in the first place. But he is not nearly as magnanimous towards other people. He doesn’t want those around him to be so either.
